Vijayawada– YS Sharmila is set to assume the role of President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). Her arrival is scheduled at Gannavaram airport from Kadapa via a special flight at 9:30 am, followed by a car journey to Vijayawada. The swearing-in ceremony, to be attended by AICC leaders like Manickam Tagore, Muniappan, Kristafar Tilak, along with key APCC figures, former MPs, MLAs, and others, is expected to mark a significant moment.
After landing, Sharmila will lead a rally from Gannavaram Airport to the Kannur Invitational Function Hall. Addressing party workers in Kannur, she will then proceed to the Andhra Ratna Bhavan PCC office. Sharmila’s formal induction into the Congress party took place in the presence of AICC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, with her YSRTP party merging into the Congress faction.
Bestowed with substantial responsibilities, Sharmila’s role as APCC chief focuses on fortifying the party in the state for the upcoming elections. Gidugu Rydraraju, the outgoing APCC chief, has been designated as a special invitee by the Congress Working Committee.
