Hyderabad -In a compassionate move, a widow, whose husband served as a police constable, secures a job at the Rachakonda Commissionerate office after highlighting her predicament through the Praja Vani programme. Satyalatha’s husband, Songa Shekhar, tragically lost his life in a road accident while on duty at the Amberpet police headquarters of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on September 30, 2021.
Satyalatha, hailing from the State of Andhra Pradesh, faced a two-year job denial from the previous government, citing nativity as a reason. Undeterred, she and her family sought assistance from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a Praja Vani programme organized by the Telangana State Government. Touched by her plight, the Chief Minister promptly issued orders to the State Director General of Police and the Rachakonda Police Commissioner to relax rules and provide her a job on humanitarian grounds.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s directive, the DGP issued an order to the Rachakonda CP to appoint Satyalatha as a junior assistant in the Rachakonda Commissionerate office. Swiftly following through, the Commissionerate office issued an appointment order, alleviating the hardships faced by the grieving widow.
Expressing gratitude, family members of Constable Shekhar, along with the President of the Police Officers’ Association, Bhadra Reddy, acknowledged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the DGP, and the Rachakonda CP for their prompt action and support during this challenging time.
