Telangana on High Alert as Heavy Rains Loom


Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has raised concerns by issuing a yellow alert for Telangana, warning residents of anticipated light to heavy rains over the next four days. With thunder and lightning expected, several districts have been put on high alert.

Starting from Sunday until Monday morning, districts including Adilabad, KumrambhimAsifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, RajannaSircilla, JayashankarBhupalpally, Mulugu, BhadradriKothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning. The weather conditions are expected to intensify from Monday to Tuesday morning, with heavy rains predicted for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy districts. Other regions may also experience rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning during this period.

The forecast for Tuesday to Wednesday indicates the possibility of heavy rainfall in Adilabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, RajannaSircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, JayashankarBhupalpally, Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and MedchalMalkajgiri districts. Furthermore, Wednesday to Thursday may bring heavy downpours to JayashankarBhupalapalli, Mulugu, BhadradriKothagudem, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthi, and Narayanapet districts.

Telangana has already experienced light to moderate rainfall in several districts, with Kotapalli in Mancherial district recording the highest precipitation of over 9 cm. In light of the anticipated weather conditions, the Meteorological Center has urged residents to exercise caution and take necessary precautions during this rainy season.

As the yellow alert remains in effect, residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and follow safety guidelines to ensure their well-being.
