TDP Gears Up for YSRCP Rebel MP Raju’s Formal Joining

Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP rebel MP Kanumuru Raghurama Krishna Raju is set to officially join the TDP. According to credible information from TDP sources, his formal induction into the party is scheduled for either February 10 or 11. The joining ceremony is expected to take place at the TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri in the presence of TDP national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, national general secretary Lokesh, and other party leaders.

Following his entry into the TDP, Raghurama will reportedly visit the Jana Sena Party office in Mangalagiri to meet with party chief Pawan Kalyan. It is speculated that he will seek Pawan’s support as the TDP and Jana Sena alliance candidate. Observers note that Pawan Kalyan contested from Bhimavaram in the last election and might do so again this time.

Post-meeting with Pawan, Raghurama is expected to lead a large rally from Vijayawada to Bhimavaram. He had previously declared his intention to contest as the Narasapuram MP from any of the three parties: TDP, Jana Sena, or BJP. Known for his active involvement in the legal battle after Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest and various public forums, Raghurama has close relations with all three parties.

In the 2019 elections, Raghurama Krishna Raju secured victory as a YSRCP candidate from the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat but later distanced himself from the party due to differences with the leadership. Legal issues ensued, including his arrest, and he filed complaints against CID police, alleging torture. Despite attempts by the YSRCP to disqualify him from Lok Sabha, these efforts have been unsuccessful. Raghurama recently announced his intention to resign from the YSRCP and Parliament membership during his visit to Bhimavaram last week.
