Ambati Rambabu alleged that the TDP government had harassed the Kapus by filing many cases against them, while YSRCP government withdrew cases.
Amaravati: Minister for Water Resources Ambati Rambabu of the YSR Congress Party has made strong comments regarding the possibility of Jana Sena Party president and film star Pawan Kalyan joining hands with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He stated that even if this were to happen, the Kapu community would not support the TDP and its president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Rambabu cited several reasons for this, including the fact that the TDP government had allegedly foisted numerous false cases on Kapu leaders during their agitation for reservations. He claimed that Chandrababu had orchestrated the murder of Kapu leader Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga in Vijayawada and that the TDP was inherently anti-Kapu. He further alleged that the TDP had a goal of ruining the Kapu community and cautioned against Pawan Kalyan “mortgaging” the interests of the community to Chandrababu.
Regarding Pawan Kalyan’s politics, Rambabu claimed that the actor lacked knowledge and warned against him aligning with the TDP. He pointed out that the YSRCP government had withdrawn all the cases against Kapus with a single government order, which both Chandrababu and Eenadu group chairman Ch. Ramoji Rao had been unable to accept.
These comments come amid speculation that Pawan Kalyan may form an alliance with the TDP ahead of the 2024 elections. However, Rambabu’s remarks suggest that such an alliance may not receive the support of the Kapu community, which could be a significant factor in the outcome of the elections.
