Hyderabad: A young intermediate student, identified as Kanaka Raju, lost his life to suicide on Friday. The tragic episode unfolded within the premises of Narayana College in Madhapur, where the second-year science student was pursuing his education. Kanaka Raju was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan of his hostel room.
The shocking discovery came to light when college staff, concerned about his absence until noon, entered his room. Despite excelling in his studies and achieving good marks in his first year at the college, the reasons behind his untimely demise remain shrouded in mystery. The college management, still grappling with the shock of the incident, expressed their lack of awareness regarding the factors that might have led to this tragic outcome.
City police immediately registered a case and have also taken the necessary steps to inform Kanaka Raju’s grief-stricken family members. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for mental health awareness and support, particularly among the younger generation grappling with various pressures.
