Hyderabad: In a recent operation conducted by the Commissioners Task Force West Zone, the Olympia Pan shop located in Jubilee Hills became the center of attention. The raid, executed on Friday, led to the apprehension of shop owner Shaik Aslam on charges of selling prohibited e-cigarettes and hookah flavors to youngsters and students in the Jubilee Hills vicinity.
The investigation didn’t stop there, as authorities managed to apprehend a suspected network of individuals believed to be involved in the supply chain of these illicit e-cigarettes. Among those detained were three students, identified as Rahil Khan (19), Rishi Agarwal (21), and Shreyash Agarwal (21). Notably, a businessman named MD Shoaib (35) managed to evade capture and is currently at large.
The police operation yielded substantial evidence, recovering a total of 41 e-cigarettes, commonly referred to as vapes, along with 12 e-cigarette liquid flavors. Additionally, a significant seizure included 21 boxes containing banned Maya Hookah flavors, totaling 210 pieces. The overall estimated value of the confiscated items is reported to be around Rs 2 lakh.
Following the successful operation, the arrested individuals, along with the seized contraband, were handed over to the Jubilee Hills Police Station. This move paves the way for further investigation and legal proceedings in the ongoing case.
