Huge throng attend the underwater tunnel expo in Hyderabad

Date:

Want to see the aquatic life from every angle up close? Visit the Aqua Underwater Tunnel Expo, which just opened in the city’s Kukatpally neighbourhood next to the Balanagar metro station.

The expo features more than 3,000 fish, 500 different kinds of which come from freshwater and marine environments. We have 500 different species of fish on display in the underwater tunnel. In addition to Kerala and Chennai, where extensive breeding is done, a lot of these species were acquired from Malaysia and Singapore. Bharat Reddy, one of the expo’s planners, stated that a tunnel more than 200 feet long had been filled with 20 tanks in all.

Among the numerous distinct fish species are starfish, angelfish, clownfish, sea horses, wrasses, eels, boxfish, and other unusual species.. The Arapaima, which weigh 60 kg and cost Rs 6 lakh each, are the most costly fishes in this underwater aquarium tube. Many people are flocking to the exhibition because they are excited to see the aquatic life in person instead of just on television. Bharat Reddy claimed that it took more than a month to set up the expo and that the aquarium tanks and tunnel combined require roughly 2000 litres of water.

The portable underwater tunnel is transportable in lorry containers and can be disassembled into eight pieces. Fish are transported individually. The exhibition opened on April 14 and is scheduled to stay in the city for 60 days. Visitors will be able to access it daily from 11 am until 10 pm. The organiser, M Rajasekhar Reddy, claims that the expo will eventually be scheduled at various locations in Hyderabad. A handloom exhibition showcasing the work of local artisans is included in the expo along with the aquariums and amusement attractions.
