The highly-anticipated film Adipurush released its trailer on Tuesday afternoon. The movie, directed by Om Raut, is based on the timeless tale of the Ramayana and stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist Lankesh in the movie.
The trailer introduces Prabhas’ character, Raghav, through a voiceover and features glimpses of some of the story’s pivotal scenes, such as the Sitaharan scene and Hanuman carrying Sanjeevani Buti. It concludes with Saif Ali Khan’s character laughing ominously, hinting at the epic battle between Raghav and Lankesh in the film.
Retrophiles, a team composed of Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair, produced the magnum opus Adipurush, which will hit theaters worldwide on June 16th with screenings in IMAX and 3D. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The makers of Adipurush had initially scheduled its release on August 11th of last year, but decided to postpone it to avoid a potential clash with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Prabhas shared the trailer on social media, captioning it with “Hari Anant, Hari Katha Ananta. Adipurush Trailer out now!”
