Hyderabad- Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the “IInvenTiv-2024” mega research and development fair at IIT Hyderabad, featuring 120 innovations from 53 higher education institutions, including IITs, NITs, and IISERs. The event serves as a nexus for academia and industry, fostering economic growth, job creation, and nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Pradhan emphasized the transformative impact of the showcased innovations, spanning various fields such as healthcare, agriculture, sustainable technologies, defense, and industry 4.0. Notable projects include an instrumented smart shoe insole for gait quantification, an IoT-enabled uric acid sensor system, a non-invasive ultrasound bone densitometer, and a device to measure respiratory rate in children.
The participating institutions, including IITs, NITs, IISERs, IIITs, and others, reflect a collaborative effort driving groundbreaking research. Industry stakeholders, including Cyient, Honeywell, Bharat Forge, Suzuki Motors, and more, actively engage with the innovations presented, highlighting the event’s significance in forging ties between academia and industry.
B.V.R Mohan Reddy, Chairman of BoG, IIT Hyderabad, emphasized the event’s impact on propelling the nation towards a brighter future through innovation and entrepreneurship. The fair’s five themes – Affordable Healthcare, Agriculture and Food Processing, Sustainable Technologies, Defence and Space, and Industry 4.0 – underscore the diverse array of research on display.
The IInvenTiv-2024 event, building on the success of its inaugural edition at IIT Delhi in 2022, continues to be a powerhouse of innovation, showcasing transformative projects that shape the nation’s trajectory. The collaborative effort between academia and industry aims to open new doors to endless possibilities, contributing to a more prosperous future.
The third edition of the mega fair is slated to be hosted by IIT Madras, marking a continued commitment to driving innovation and research in the higher education landscape.
