Director Lokesh Kanagaraj unveils captivating “Leo” poster on Vijay’s birthday

Date:

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed the highly anticipated first look poster of the upcoming film “Leo,” starring Vijay, on the occasion of the actor’s 49th birthday. Following their successful collaboration in “Master,” this marks the second partnership between Lokesh and Vijay.

The intriguing first look poster showcases Vijay holding a bloodied sledgehammer, while a lurking wolf adds to the suspenseful ambiance. The caption reads, “In the realm of wild rivers, tranquil waters either transform into divine deities or feared demons.”

“Leo” boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy, and Mysskin. The movie features cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing by Philomin Raj, and dance choreography by Dinesh.

Following the blockbuster hits “Kaithi” and “Vikram,” fans are eager to see if “Leo” will be the third installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

Anirudh Ravichander, known for his musical prowess, is composing the music for “Leo,” marking his third collaboration with both Lokesh and Vijay. Today marks the scheduled release of the first single, titled “Naa Ready.” The snippet of the song, released on Tuesday, has already garnered over 700,000 likes on YouTube. “Naa Ready” is a quintessential Tamil ‘kuthu’ track, ideal for dance floors and celebrations.

Reports suggest that “Leo” combines gangster action elements with a poignant father-son relationship. Trisha, who has frequently starred opposite Vijay, takes on the female lead role in the film, marking their fifth collaboration after a 15-year gap. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt portrays Vijay’s father, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.

Netflix has secured the streaming rights for “Leo,” and reports suggest that the film is expected to be released in German and various other foreign languages during its OTT premiere, expanding its multi-language reach beyond major Indian languages.

With its pan-Indian appeal, “Leo” is gearing up for a theatrical release on October 19.
