Hyderabad – The Cyient Foundation and the Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) have joined forces to launch the Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BVR SCIENT) on the IIT-H Campus in Sangareddy district. The inauguration of the 30,000-square-foot facility took place during a ceremony attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
During the event, Pradhan engaged with postgraduate students from the Department of Entrepreneurship and Management, encouraging them to address societal challenges through entrepreneurial initiatives and become creators of job opportunities. Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT-H, highlighted India’s emergence as a technological innovation powerhouse. He emphasized the current revolutionary era marked by the intersection of cutting-edge technology and creativity, leading to a surge in entrepreneurial spirit and job creation through numerous startups.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, IIT-H already offers Bachelor’s, Master’s Degrees, and PhD programs with a focus on entrepreneurship. The newly established BVR SCIENT aims to enhance these programs by introducing executive education courses in entrepreneurship, conducting entrepreneurship boot camps, launching weekend/online programs, and fostering research in innovation and entrepreneurship. The school also plans to organize corporate innovation challenges and initiate various community outreach programs, contributing to the broader ecosystem of innovation and education.
