CPI Identifies BRS and Congress as Key Contenders in Telangana Election

Date:

Hyderabad: The National Secretary of CPI, Narayana, has stated that in Telangana state, the main contenders in the upcoming elections are BRS and Congress. During the national meetings on May 18th and 19th, the party will decide its stance on forming an alliance in Telangana.

He emphasized that the CPI is willing to collaborate with BRS party or any secular party to defeat the BJP in the next elections. Narayana also highlighted that the political scenario has shifted after the Karnataka elections, where the BJP suffered a setback despite a high-pitched campaign by Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah.

He stated that the BJP’s prospects in the south have dimmed after the Karnataka outcome. Furthermore, he suggested that the political parties in Andhra Pradesh must alter their approach, considering the Karnataka verdict. In the 2018 Karnataka polls, the Communist party supported the Congress in 212 constituencies, Narayana added.
