Chilli and Ginger Prices Reach Alarming Heights

Green chilli and ginger prices witness sharp surge in parts of India as supply dwindles. In Chennai, green chillies soar to Rs 100 per kg, while Kolkata sees prices reaching Rs 350 per kg. The decrease in green chilli supply is attributed to farmers in Andhra Pradesh shifting to alternative crops after facing low prices in the previous harvest. Additionally, tomatoes average at Rs 56.58 per kg nationwide.
