Secunderabad, May 25, 2023 – Today, a significant event took place at the MCEME Auditorium in Secunderabad as the Bridge-IT programme was organized under the joint efforts of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) and the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO). This initiative, conducted in collaboration with TCS Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aims to empower veterans residing in rural areas by providing them with the necessary skills to become successful entrepreneurs in the field of digital information technology (IT), akin to the Common Services Centre (CSC) model.
The esteemed gathering was addressed by Mr. Biswajit Datta, Head of the Digital Entrepreneurship Programme at TCS CSR, who emphasized the objectives of the project. Through the Bridge-IT programme, veterans will receive comprehensive training in various areas such as entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, digital literacy, behavioral changes, and communication. These essential skills will equip them with the necessary knowledge and confidence to establish their own businesses. The programme is designed to span a duration of four months, during which participants will undergo extensive training and guidance.

Mr. Datta further elaborated on the support provided by TCS to the veterans in the programme. TCS is committed to assisting them in establishing their own centers by providing the necessary facilities and resources. This support aims to ensure that the veterans have a conducive environment to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the TCS professionals by Colonel BG Budhori (Retd), who highlighted the significance and objectives of the project. The gathering was enthralled by the inspiring success story shared by Mr. Gangappa, a TCS Digital Entrepreneur from Raichur. His personal journey highlighted how even an individual from humble beginnings can significantly benefit from the programme, serving as a source of motivation for the audience.
The Bridge-IT programme, organized under the aegis of TASA, AWPO, and TCS CSR, reflects a collective effort to empower veterans in rural areas and enable them to explore entrepreneurship opportunities in the digital domain. By equipping them with the necessary skills and support, this initiative aspires to create a promising future for the veterans while promoting inclusivity and progress in the region.
